After creating a nationwide storm over the issue of female foeticide in the first episode of his television show 'Satyamev Jayate', Aamir Khan met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday to discuss the grave issue existing in the state. 

On the show, two journalists from Rajasthan, Meena Sharma and Shripal Shaktawat showed a sting operation carried out by them seven years ago. The sting operation had covered 140 doctors involved in sex determination tests and abortions of the girl child, in the state of Rajasthan. 

Aamir asked the Rajasthan CM to take action against the people involved in the crime. Gehlot has now promised that he will take up the issue and set a fast track court with the state chief justice. 

Addressing a press conference Aamir said, "I have requested the Chief Minister to take action against the people who were shown in my programme through sting operation." 

At the press conference, Gehlot told the media, "Aamir's programme has created an environment against female foeticide...I congratulate Aamir for finding time out of his busy Bollywood career to take up such a serious issue. We are doing a lot of work towards the issue. But to handle this problem we need the support of the state police. He has already done a lot through his show," Gehlot added.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan on Wednesday met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to discuss the issue of female foeticide, as highlighted in the first episode of his television show 'Satyamev Jayate'.

Gehlot told reporters that Aamir's show has created an environment against female foeticide. The CM said after hearing about the episode he has called for an emergency meeting to discuss the matter.

''Satyamev Jayate is a great & extra ordinary initiative to root out Female Feticide.I am eager to have a fruitful dialogue with Aamir on 9 May,'' Gehlot tweeted. 

Speaking at a joint press conference with the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Aamir said, ''Female foeticide is a crime which is planned inside a house. First we need to change ourselves. The change should start from me. We all have to work, administration has to work, but each Indian has to think of his responsibility too.''

''The change is of the heart and it has to come from heart. I am presenting before you my education so that it also impacts you,'' added the actor, ''I am an entertainer and so with this vehicle I am trying bring different issues before you. Law and order will do its work while from our side we can say that we will not do this.''

Jaipur, May 9 (ANI): Actor Aamir Khan, whose debut TV show 'Satyamev Jayate' focused on the issue of female foeticide in Rajasthan in its first episode, today met the state's chief minister Ashok Gehlot to discuss on the matter. Khan expressed concern over the rampant practice of female foeticide in the state and requested to set up a special court for speedy trial in various such cases. Khan also said that the minister has given him full assurance that the matter would be looked upon and the government would cooperate fully on the issue. Meanwhile, Gehlot has said that female foeticide is a serious issue and should be curbed. He also encouraged the actor who gave the issue priority than his movies.
