Aamir Khan upset with his face on AAP poster, writes to Election Commission
Election season is here and political parties are doing all they can to grab voters’ attention. However, one such attempt has caused Aamir Khan to be upset. His picture is being used to promote a particular party and the actor has written to the Election Commission (EC) about the issue, after the social media campaign for Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that used his image was brought to his notice.
A source close to the actor reveals, "Aamir has written to the EC, marking officials from the AAP, clarifying that he is not endorsing any particular political party. Lots of supporters of the AAP have used Twitter and Facebook to put up images of Aamir as a supporter of the party. He isn’t pleased at all as this campaign makes it seem as if he is endorsing the party."
The source adds that Aamir is not okay with the online posters as he recently associated with the EC as part of their initiative, which aims at encouraging people to vote. As part of this initiative, Aamir will tell citizens to practise judicious voting and will not associate his name with any particular political party.
"Aamir has asked the EC to take immediate action on the same as this has been done without his consent. He does not want his name to be misused,” the source says.
When contacted, Aamir’s spokesperson confirms the news, adding, "From day one, Aamir Khan has made it clear that he will not be endorsing a particular political party. He is not supporting or campaigning for any political party."

Aamir Khan writes to EC, clarifies he is not supporting AAP
Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan has written a letter to the Election Commission (EC) clarifying that he is not endorsing any particular political party, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Apparently, it was brought to Aamir's notice that a social campaign was doing the rounds that he was supporting AAP.
Some candidates of AAP allegedly took to twitter and used Aamir's image in one of their campaign posters, claiming that the 49-year-old 'Dhoom 3' star was supporting their party.
In view of this, Aamir has written to the EC clarifying that he is not endorsing any particular political party. "Aamir Khan from day one has made it clear that he will not be endorsing a particular political party. He is not supporting or campaigning for any political party," the actor's spokesperson said in a statement here.
