Aamir Khan's 'Satyamev Jayate' stint scares his mother
Mumbai: The fact that actor-producer Aamir Khan hosts a TV show like 'Satyamev Jayate', where startling facts and cases about societal issues are picked, scares his mother. The second season of the show is due to go on air on Star Plus March 2.
The debut season created quite a flutter as Aamir unraveled facts and figures about issues such as female foeticide, dowry demands, the skewed sex ratio in the country and the likes. Aamir Khan's 'Satyamev Jayate' stint scares his mother
He says he gets a sense of the varied response to the show through his family. "My family gives different reactions while watching the show. All my family members like the show. My mother is close to 80, and my niece and nephew who are 12 and 13 years old, enjoy the show equally," Aamir told IANS.
"My mother is scared...her reaction is different. She says, 'You are showing people who do wrong, with the right intention', but she says she is scared that what if those people go against me or harm me. After all, she is a mother, so she is scared," he added. There have been reports that Aamir has been receiving threat calls, but he said: "I have only been receiving love from people and no threat calls these are just rumours."

Mumbai: Aamir Khan has rubbished reports of threat to his life in the wake of sensitive issues taken up by him during the first season of his television show 'Satyamev Jayate'. After Aamir touched upon sensitive topics like female foeticide, medical malpractices and honour killing in 'Satyamev Jayate', he had apparently received several threats to stop highlighting such cases.
There were reports that Aamir had ordered a bullet proof car as some of the episodes of 'Satyamev Jayate 2' may throw light on governance and issues related to Lok Sabha elections 2014. I have not got any threats because of 'Satyamev Jayate', says Aamir Khan.
"I have not got any threats. I don't fear... threats. Do not go with the rumours. There is no threat to me," the actor said. The show anchored by Aamir, 48, will be aired on television from March 2. "We think ourselves as communicators, our responsibility is to talk about an issue, present the data and talk about the law. I want people to join... engage in the movement and stand for the right things. Personally, I would like to endorse women empowerment," he said.
