Happy Republic Day!!!
Ровно 9 лет назад состоялась премьера фильма "Rang De Basanti"!
Aamir Khan’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ has turned 9
Aamir Khan‘s ‘Rang De Basanti’, which was India’s official entry to Oscars in 2007, completed nine years of its release yesterday (January 26). The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film also starring Soha Ali Khan, Siddharth Narayan, Kunal Kapoor and Madhvan broke all box office records on the opening weekend and became the highest grossing movie. This movie based on one of the poems of poet Dushyant Kumar, was supposed to be made in English language as well with the title ‘Paint it Yellow’ but did not materialise due to some reasons.
Maestro AR Rahman gave the soulful music to the film, for which he worked hard for almost 3 years. Songs like ‘Paathshaala, Tu Bin Bataye, Khalbali, Luka Chupi, Roobaroo’ and the ‘Rang De Basanti’ title track itself topped the charts at that time.
While signing the star cast for the film, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra approached a number of biggies from B-Town like Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar, but the movie finally landed in the lap of Aamir and others.
The movie made a grand opening and was flooded with awards in the year 2007. It won IIFA and Filmfare for the Best Movie category, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra won a Filmfare for the Best Direcor and Aamir khan received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
A film that arouses patrioitism in the viewers, this was just the perfect treat for Indians and Aamir’s fans on Republic Day in the year 2006.
